Join Troop 777

 General information for joining

Boys may start in Boy Scouting if they are 11, or are at least 10 years old and have completed the fifth grade, or have earned the Cub Scout Arrow of Light Award.  Boys may continue in the scouting program until their 18th birthday.  Upon turning 18, scouts cannot continue activities and advancement as a Boy Scout.  

Persons 18 or older register as adult leaders.

Boys experience a vigorous outdoor program and peer group leadership with the counsel of an adult Scoutmaster to achieve the BSA's objectives of developing character, citizenship, and personal fitness.

Forms and Fees

Scout Registration:

Three things are required for a Scout to register for Troop 777:

1. BSA Youth Membership Form.  Registration and payment to be completed online for registration to National BSA.

2. 2025 Troop Release/Authorization Form (2 pages) to be completed and turn in to the Troop Registrar.  One form per family.

3. Get a Scout Handbook and Scout uniform at the San Diego Imperial Council Scout Store at 1207 Upas St. San Diego.

Adult Registration:

We encourage adults to register with Troop 777 and become active with the troop.  Only with the help of adult volunteers can the troop offer the meaningful scouting experience to our children and the community.   

Parents are not required to register with Troop 777 to attend troop meetings or to join their scouts on many treks and activities.  However, adults must complete Youth Protection Training (YPT) when working with any scouts other than their own children.  Also, only registered adults with proper training can lead Troop 777 treks, or hold a position within the troop.  

Three things are required for an Adult to register with Troop 777:

1. BSA Adult Membership Form. Registration and payment to be completed online for registration to National BSA.

2. Youth Protection Training (YPT). Create an account online at https://my.scouting.org/ and complete the online Youth Protection Training course. This takes about 30 minutes and provides a certificate to print on completion.  Please print the certificate.

3. California AB 506 Training (See the For Parents page for more information).
