General Information for New Scouts
Youth may start in Scouting if they are 11 years old, or are at least 10 years old and have completed the fifth grade or have earned the Cub Scout Arrow of Light Award. Youth may continue in the scouting program until their 18th birthday. Upon turning 18 years old, Scouts cannot continue activities and advancement as a youth Scout.
Persons 18 or older register as adult leaders.
Scouts experience a vigorous outdoor program and peer group leadership with the counsel of an adult Scoutmaster to achieve Scouting America’s objectives of character development, leadership development, citizenship training, and personal fitness.
Camping, fun with friends -- and more. It’s the adventure of a lifetime!
Give your child a valuable gift by encouraging them to join Scouting America today. The time you invest in them today will make a difference in the person they become tomorrow!
