NEW DATE Troop 777 La Jolla Shores Kayak Trek October 20, 2019

posted Oct 14, 2019, 9:12 PM by Webmaster Troop777
Dear Troop 777,

Unfortunately, we had the city cancel our kayak trek last weekend because the swells were too high.  Luckily, I have been able to reschedule the trek for October 20, 2019 at Noon.  Those scouts and scouters who signed up for the first date will have first priority.  We have plenty of room, so please let me know if you're interested.  I'll need signed trek forms and payment to get people on the list.

Get ready for a fun day on the ocean!  The Troop’s family kayak trek at La Jolla shores is planned for October 20 at 12:00pm.  We have 20 spots available.  The cost is $45 and this includes a tip for the guides.  Meeting location will be at the Everyday California outfitters in La Jolla,  You will need to make sure to arrive at 11:30 AM sharp to check in.  We will not be carpooling down from Encinitas, so just meet up at the outfitters.

Join fellow scouts and their families in an exciting and adventurous kayak tour of the La Jolla shores and caves.  Kayak with gentle leopard sharks, sea lions, garibaldi fish, and if you’re lucky, maybe a dolphin. We rent double/tandem sit-on-top kayaks and will have a couple guides for the trek.

Families of scouts welcome to attend.  A parent must attend if a non-scout participates.

This will be a first come, first served trek, so if you want to join, please return the sign-up form and payment asap to Mark or Melissa Masterson.  Please provide a hard copy of the trek form along with payment.

Sign-up sheet attached, and digital waiver and guidelines below from our outfitter (Everyday California in La Jolla).  It is best if you plan to join to fill out and submit this waiver prior to the trek.

Please eat a light lunch or have a heavy snack before we start the trek.  Attire is swimsuits, and you may want to consider a rash guard or long sleeve sun shirt.  Don't forget to bring sunscreen.

Please contact me with any questions.  Thank you.

Sincerely,
Mark Masterson
